Köllunarklettsreitur

The design of the new settlement in Köllunarklett draws inspiration from the surrounding neighborhood and its proximity to the Laugarnes conservation area. The goal is to give the neighborhood a holistic yet distinctive appearance, which will become a landmark in the surrounding area. The neighborhood is partially divided into two residential cores; east and west of Héðinsgata. East of Héðinsgata is built on a dense human scale of 3-5-story buildings, although some buildings rise higher. The neighborhood west of Héðinsgata is more robust and the view of the blue straits shapes the neighborhood. The location of Köllunarklett, with Sæbraut to the south and Sundahöfn to the north, shapes the proposal to some extent. A continuous settlement on the edges, which shelters a smaller, more compact settlement within the neighborhood on the east side, while it shelters a sunny courtyard west of Héðinsgata. Within the neighborhood is a kind of nature reserve; small buildings, sunny courtyards, walking paths and playgrounds.
