Kvosin

The planning area is in Kvosinn and is bounded by Aðalstræti, Vallarstræti, Thorvaldsens Street and Kirkjustræti. In recent years the division plan of Kvosin has been under review for the southern part of Ingólfstorg, Vallarstræti and the plots Thorvaldsens Street 2, Vallarstræti 4 and Aðalstræti 7. In 2008 and 2009, changes to the plot subdivision were announced due to the desire of land holders to use development permits. Due to comments received on the advertised proposals, the Reykjavík Planning Council decided to hold an open competition for a future vision for the area. This zoning proposal is prepared following the outcome of the competition, but the demarcation of the planning area is narrower where Ingólfstorg is excluded.
